Job Title:
MSP Specialist Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact and keep customers, salespeople, and/or vendors updated with status until issues are resolved. Willing to work flexible schedules including "Weekends &Holidays" and participate in after-hours "On-Call" rotation with occasional overtime. Must work your shifts as assigned. Follow-Up is responsible for helping the entire team call customers, keeping them updated on trouble ticket status or closing tickets. Available always during your shift in the Service Chatroom for support, training & communication Understanding with Hosted PBX desirable
Competencies:
Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams. Manage and resolve critical incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations. Conduct in-depth analysis of recurring problems, identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address and resolve network, server, and application issues. Create and maintain detailed documentation of issues, solutions, and processes for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to provide expert-level support and recommendations. Assist in the development and implementation of proactive measures to prevent future technical issues. Provide mentorship and guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency response. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client service level agreements (SLAs).
Required Technologies and Skills:
Software -
Windows Environment Operating Systems:
Windows Server (2000 to 2022), Windows XP to 11. Active Directory and Office 365: User and group management, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and administration of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
Virtualization:
Hyper-V, VMware vSphere/ESXi.
Microsoft Exchange and Remote Desktop Services:
Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, along with RDS setup and troubleshooting, including Remote Desktop Gateway.
Backup and Security Solutions:
Acronis, Windows Server Backup, antivirus/antimalware solutions (Symantec, McAfee, etc.), Windows Defender, patch management.
Monitoring Tools:
System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), PRTG, SolarWinds. Software -
Linux Environment Operating Systems:
CentOS, Ubuntu.
Web Servers and Database Management:
MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
Virtualization and Containerization:
VMware ESXi.
General Skills Networking Protocols:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, VPNs.
Problem-Solving Tools:
Wireshark, syslog, system and application logs.
Documentation Tools:
SharePoint, technical writing for knowledge base articles. Requirements 4 years minimum experience in computer/server support. Excellent written and verbal communication/listening skills required. Strong organizational and project management skills required. Outstanding customer service skills, pleasant, patient, and friendly attitude. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Strong analytical skills with the ability to think outside of the box. Able to diffuse difficult situations while remaining professional and calm. Must have valid California driver's license and a licensed vehicle
