Job Description

CMM Programmer/Operator 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars Rochester Hills, MI 48309 Job Overview Responsible for operating CMM equipment and the evaluation of production materials from receipt of raw materials to the shipment of finished products. This is achieved through an understanding of design prints and the use of manual and computer aided equipment to measure components as accurate as +/-.0001. Develop programs as needed to measure new styles of parts. Support Operations team through setting up dies or running equipment. Serve as a technical resource for developing and implementing quality procedures to drive process improvement and optimize our customer experience.
Required Experience/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Mathematics including basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Detail oriented and committed to completing work to the highest degree of quality. High sense of urgency in terms of completing routine and assigned tasks on time. Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Collaborate with teammates to proactively anticipate problems, investigate opportunities and the determination to follow-through with implementation of the corrective action to maintain high quality standards. Reference mechanical prints/CAD drawings, interpret dimensions and review quality checks against Customer requirements. Properly calibrate and use calipers, microscopes, Depth, ID and OD micrometers, snap gauges, dial indicators, dial bore gauges, gauge blocks, and hardness testers. Calculate fractions, decimals, and conversions and to apply basic concepts of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Safely handle work in process often needing to utilize overhead crane system. Ability to assist in determining manufacturing requirements with regards to performing verification and validation of processes. Understand CMM programming language and conceptualize new programs as needed.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Associate degree in a technical discipline Knowledge of Hexagon PC-DMIS CAD++ Understanding Cordax 7000 manual CMM and/or Giddings and Lewis
CMM RS-150
Relevant experience working in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering related environment. Ability to work with computers and knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Access and Excel applications and Global Shop ERP. Prior work experience in a manufacturing setting that was compliant to
ISO 9001
2008 or equivalent quality system. Knowledge of Bernal's quality system procedures and metrics and how inspection supports these initiatives. Experience with CAD, ExpertCAD or
SOLIDWORKS.
Knowledge of Reinshaw ph10 and various probes.
