Coder Hibbing, Minnesota Business Operations 146597 $22.19-$32.17 / Hourly Job Overview Fairview Range is hiring a Coder for our Coding Department, in Hibbing, MN. The Coder is responsible for coding and abstracting the medical record and assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include utilizing an electronic coding software to code to the highest level of specificity, ensuring optimal and appropriate reimbursement for the services provided. The Coder will resolve medical necessity edits and denials, abstract clinical data for use by internal users or external agencies, resolve clinical documentation and charge capture discrepancies, and provide feedback to providers on the quality of their documentation and charging. Through these tasks, you will actively contribute to supporting the goals of Fairview Range.

Schedule:

This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day shift.

As a Coder you, you will be responsible for: Abstracting pertinent information from patient records and assigning correct ICD-10-CM, CPT, or HCPCS codes as applicable. Resolving any questions concerning diagnosis, procedures, clinical content of the chart, or code selection through research and communication. May query physicians on documentation according to established procedures and guidelines. Maintaining productivity and accuracy standards for coding visits or encounters, as established by the coding department. Staying up-to-date with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements. Bringing identified concerns to the Manager or Coordinator for resolution. Following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement objectives and safety and environmental standards. Adhering to the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and follows official coding guidelines. Ensuring strict confidentiality of financial and medical reports.
