Performs a wide variety of secretarial, administrative assistant, and coordinator tasks and assignments. Supports the oversight of the district's special education pupil accounting/document system. It is the primary point of contact for scheduling various department meetings and is a valuable resource to help resolve difficulties involving faculty, staff, students, and parents. Maintains strict confidentiality of student records. This position also supports the Operations department primarily by processing purchasing requests and billings.

$47,083 - $58,369 Qualifications High school diploma is required Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field preferred Minimum 3 years of experience working in the education field preferred Experience with student management system preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining confidentiality Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic Ability to problem-solve difficult or emotional situations Demonstrated leadership and management ability Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing and executing tasks consistently to meet deadlines Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members Ability to work independently and contribute to a team Understanding and ability to manage confidential information Responsibilities Supports the monitoring of Special Education staff caseloads under State/District compliance standards Master MiPSE, Skyward, and other student management systems Supports the creation of appropriate programming for transfer students by collaborating with the enrollment team and prior school to obtain documents and understand student needs Assists in the implementation of the Extended School Year program and gathering student data required for state reporting Maintain knowledge of current Special Education regulations in compliance with IDEA and MARSE Rules Support special education/general education teachers and administrators in the implementation of appropriate programs and services to meet the needs of students with IEPs Monitor IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and district standards Analyze Special Education documentation as required by federal, state, and district regulations Ensure IEP timeline compliance Facilitate a positive rapport with internal and external stakeholders Train on special education systems to ensure staff are knowledgeable with systems (MIPSE) Assists buildings with state testing for Special Education students Analyze special education data to help make district-level decisions Support building-level Section 504 questions Support providing high-quality professional development Address/support parent concerns and encourage partnerships Meet regularly with the Special Education Staff Compiles and oversees count day records and worksheet B paperwork Supports Medicaid billing Participate in various district and regional meetings Processing purchase orders and billing documents for the Operations department.
