Full Job Description Instrument, Controls, & Electrical Technician Location:

Full-time, Direct Hire Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Instrument, Controls, & Electrical (I&C) Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power plant equipment in a 300 MW combined cycle facility . This role involves working with electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems , including generators, turbines, switchgear, motors, and control systems .
Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation, calibration, testing, and repair of electrical & instrumentation systems. Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems (GE Mark Vie, Cimplicity, HMI). Conduct preventative maintenance and performance tests on power generation equipment. Work with low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear , circuit breakers, and transformers. Ensure compliance with NERC, FRCC, and FPUA reliability standards . Maintain logs, generate reports, and support plant operations. Follow safety protocols , including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures . May assist with operations, training, and supervision of temporary technicians . Respond to on-call emergencies and work overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (AS in Electrical Engineering Tech or ISA Certification preferred). 2-5 years of experience in electrical & instrumentation maintenance in a power plant . Proficiency in AC/DC circuits, motor control, PLC programming, and network communication . Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret technical schematics . Valid Florida Driver's License preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Indoor/outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Exposure to high voltages, chemicals, compressed gases, and rotating equipment . Requires climbing, lifting (45+ lbs.), kneeling, and working at heights up to 100' . Must wear protective gear (hard hats, safety glasses, arc flash clothing, respirators, etc.).
