We are seeking a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our client's team in Melville, NY . This is a full-time, permanent role offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The position is hybrid with some in-office requirements during training. If you have a passion for coding, medical procedures, and working with a dynamic healthcare team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and code medical charts for various service areas including Inpatient, Ambulatory Surgery, Cardiology, Observation, Interventional Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Clinics, and Nursing Homes, ensuring accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding. Assist physicians in selecting the correct CPT codes, diagnoses, and modifiers for medical procedures. Analyze manually posted charge batches to ensure ICD-10-CM and CPT codes are accurate. Ensure all coding follows billing and coding guidelines, especially for diagnosis, procedures, modifiers, date of service, and place of service.Maintain high productivity levels:
90-100 charts per day for outpatient services, 65 charts per day for inpatient, ASU, and surgical charts.Essential Duties:
Code and/or validate all outpatient service areas, including diagnosis, E&M codes, and modifiers. Review provider documentation to ensure accurate coding for all services provided. Edit and validate physician procedures for inpatient and outpatient services, meeting productivity targets.Requirements:
Certification:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.Experience:
Proven experience in medical coding, including inpatient, outpatient, surgery and emergency medicine.Knowledge:
Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.Skills:
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.Benefits:
