Position Summary:
Power Solutions International participates in E-Verify. This role is reporting to our office in Darien, WI. We are currently not offering Sponsorship or Relocation Assistance for this role. As an entry to Mid-Level Electrical Mechanical Service Technician (EMST), you will assemble and test various electrical components and accessories according to standardized work instructions or electrical schematics. The role requires the ability to balance effective utilization of quality workmanship methods with the ability to meet production schedules, including product quantity goals, to achieve manufacturing goals. We are willing to train as long as you meet the basic requirements listed below.Essential Responsibilities:
Read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics including component and symbol recognition to complete electrical assembly and support mechanical assembly of power generation products Assemble or build components including electrical wiring to include electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, plc's, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical elements according to standardized work instructions using a wide variety of power or hand tools Problem-solve, communicate, and escalate issues across functional areas (Assembly, Maintenance, Materials, Purchasing, and Engineering) to identify root causes, resolve the challenge, and prevent future occurrences Verify product quality based on applicable work instructions or schematics and follow standard processes for reporting defective materials or questionable conditions As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds. Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly As needed, able and willing to perform mechanical assembly work to ensure a smooth production All other duties as assigned by managementShifts:
1st shift- 5 AM-3:30 PM M-F every other Saturday 2nd shift 4 PM
- 2:30 AM M-F every other Saturday 8-hour shift
- 2nd shift only 4 PM-12:30 AM M-F every other Saturday 12-hour shift
- 5 AM-5:30 PM M-F We also have shifts available in
Beloit, WI:
1st shift- 5 AM-3:30PM M-F 12-hour shift
- 5 AM-5:30 PM M-F Qualifications
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams into work Electrical trade school/certifications and/or demonstrated success in electrical assembly including the ability to translate electrical schematics into finished wiring Must know how to complete Terminations and/or Rough-Ins and/or DLO Prep and/or DLO Terminations. Willing to train as long as you meet one or more of these specific requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous knowledge of engines or work in the automotive or Power Generation industries One or more of the following certifications: High Voltage Certification, Industrials & PLC Electrical Certificate, D/C Voltage Certification, ASE Electrical Certification Knowledge and understanding of applicable electrical codes, NFPA-79 and UL 508A. Electrician journeyman certification Experience using or knowledge of Lean manufacturing and/or ISO9001 methodologies, processes, or tools Basic familiarity with Epicor or other ERP (SAP, JD Edwards) to access and enter information Knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) including electrical systems using 120/277 and 277/460 volts and the ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics Demonstrated success in one or more of the following electrical applications: Electrical Control Panel Assembly/Installation, Industrial Panel Building, installation, or assembly of industrial electrical distribution systems involving 120-480 volts.
