General Information Instrumentation and Electrical Technician Ashtabula, OH $35.05/hour Training on 1 ^st^ shift from 7am-330pm, but flexibility to work other shifts after training Direct Hire opportunity The I&E Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and instrumentation issues that would negatively impact the safe operation of plant systems. Duties/Responsibilities Test, repair and upgrade electrical instrumentation systems. Safely and efficiently maintain and repair manufacturing and utilities equipment. Monitor and troubleshoot electrical equipment, report deviations, equipment failures, and hazards. Installation, calibration, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments and electrical equipment. Identify, interpret, and effectively use drawings, and documentation related to electrical and process controls (electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, instrument loop diagrams, etc.) Control valve repair. Participate on project teams identifying and sharing continuous improvement ideas. Complete reports and documentation accurately. Skills/Qualifications 5 years' experience in electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting and repair, or 2 year technical degree/certificate in industrial electrician and 2 years of work experience in the electrical and/or instrumentation field. High school diploma or equivalent Previous chemical plant experience is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills Computer skills using Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule. Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders both indoors and outdoors. Able to work in an outdoor environment in all seasonal weather extremes. Will be subject to pre-employment screening.
