Some speciality assignments include:
Detective, SRO, CIT, DART, TRIAD, FTO, Drone Unit, CT River Task Force, Bicycle Patrol, Comfort K9 program (new), and many others. We are looking for applicants who are willing and able to meet the duties and obligations of a South Hadley Police Officer. All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: U.S. citizen; at least 21 years of age; High School graduate (college degree in criminal justice, related field, or military experience preferred). Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a MA LTC. Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Thoughtful, self-motivated, disciplined, and service-oriented. Must be able to obtain certification by the Massachusetts P.O.S.T. Commission. Must be able to pass a physical fitness test based on Cooper Physical Fitness Assessment and pass the PAT (Physical Ability Test) requirements. Be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical, psychological examination.Note:
any felony conviction or untruthfulness during any portion of the hiring process will be considered automatic disqualification for employment.Hiring Process:
