Job:
We are seeking a highly organized and solution-oriented Hydraulic Service Technician to join our team. This role assists the company with a variety of tasks, while building on a foundation of industrial hydraulic knowledge including how to operate machinery, document systems, and learn the functionality of systems and their components. Don't have hydraulics experience? We're willing to train the right person. Job seekers with a background in HVAC, welding, carpentry, plumbing, or related mechanical aptitudes are encouraged to apply. All we ask is that you bring a strong desire to learn.
Duties You'll Perform:
Conduct inspections of hydraulic systems to identify and diagnose issues. Service and repair hydraulic components including pumps, cylinders, motors, etc. Perform routine maintenance tasks on hydraulic equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity. Install and commission new hydraulic systems, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic system malfunctions in a timely manner. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Track time and job progress, photograph and document all work, and promptly supply all documentation administrative staff. Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in hydraulic technology. Provide assistance to co-workers as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities You'll Need:
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. A fast and efficient work style with an aptitude for mechanical work. Ability to operate equipment such as test stand, training benches, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, disc grinder, welder. Familiarity with how to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, height gauges, and micrometers. Ability to work with both great autonomy and with a team when required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. This includes keeping all workspaces tidy. Exceptional manual dexterity. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a knack for fixing, building, or taking apart mechanical systems. Stamina for working in various environments.
Education & Experience You Have:
A high school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of hydraulic experience is preferred but transferable skills are highly desirable. At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or shop environment is required. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and standard shop operations with a combination of practical skills, reasoning, and knowledge of mechanical systems. A valid driver's license. Understanding of basic algebra. This is a math-oriented field.
Work Environment:
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasionally required overtime/weekend/evening when needed. Workshop or industrial setting, often within a factory or manufacturing facility, with exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, mechanical equipment noise, odors, and fluids.
