PURPOSE OF POSITION
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software applications while performing/assisting the repair process. Responsible for ensuring product quality through repairing and testing of product to ensure specifications are met. Documents issues and reports potential quality related problems to quality management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Test and diagnostics of servers and components. Repair or replace parts as necessary for servers Troubleshoots technical issues and complete applicable documentation. Use of tools and test equipment of various types, to diagnose issues servers Responsible for reading, understanding and following all Work Instructions (WI's) for each function performed. Disassembles and/or reassembles units according to the applicable work instructions. Effectively communicates repairs needed to Repair Technician
  • Level 1 based on instructional guidelines (WIKI ).
Tests units according to work instructions and process flows. Responsible for inspecting products to ensure it is labeled correctly. Responsible for completing applicable paperwork completely and accurately. Responsible for entering repair data accurately into the QMS shop floor system. Document and communicate repair issues to engineering (TE ); including items that are not documented in WIKI
  • report to TE so WIKI can be updated.
Swapping Servers in/out of racks Data Collection and analysis for use in problem solving and continuous improvement Other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Six (6) months to one (1) year technical repair experience in a related field. Six (6) months to one (1) year experience in debugging and testing of electro-mechanical assemblies. Ability to distinguish different computer components, i.e. CPU, DIMM, Cabling, etc. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to speak and read English fluently.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES A
Plus Certification a plus. Able to identify potential quality related problems quickly and concisely. Computer literate in a Windows Environment; Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Internet. Detail oriented. Analytical abilities. Good organizational skills. Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative. Flexibility to change direction frequently with little notice. Ability to recognize defects or flaws in routine parts and/or products.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish colors Ability to stand for prolonged periods on concrete floors. Ability to stoop, bend, squat, reach overhead, climb ladders, grip, manipulate small items with fingers. Ability to wear hearing protection. Environment is a standard production/warehouse facility; ability to work in varying temperatures
  • heat/cold.
