Aerotek Cnc Lathe Machinist in Elk Grove Village , Illinois CNC Turning Machinist Job Description We are seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists for the 2nd shift to operate various CNC turning/lathe machines in our shop utilizing FANUC operating systems. Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) experience is preferred. You will be responsible for operating machines to transform valuable castings/forgings into quality parts for customers. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 4:20 pm to 2:50 am, with availability for overtime including weekends and peak production times. This position offers a hire-on bonus. Responsibilities Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications. Perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications. Perform simple set-ups of many jobs and may operate more than one machine. Check parts for conformance to specifications. Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. Essential Skills Experience with FANUC controls. Proficiency in operating lathe machines. Ability to work with tight tolerances. Blueprint reading ability. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently, with heavier weight necessary at times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic computer skills are a plus. Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent. Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures. Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are critical. Why Work Here?
