DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and (B) Two (2) years of experience in operating various construction and maintenance equipment and heavy trucks, or (C) Any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Ability to learn the operation and to perform manual labor related to municipal projects. (B) Working knowledge of traffic regulations and the practices followed for safe operation of light and heavy equipment and trucks. (C) Working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to perform minor repairs, along with operation principles sufficient to detect any defective equipment. (D) Working knowledge of motor equipment sufficient to detect any defective operations. Ability to service a motor vehicle and make minor running repairs. (E) Working knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. (F) Skilled in the proper and safe operation of tools and equipment. (G) Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. (H) Ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. (I) Ability to read blue prints (i.e.: landscape and irrigation plans) (J) Ability to meet and communicate with contractors.
