This position will focus on designing, developing, and integrating student information systems while ensuring data security, compliance, and system performance. The successful candidate will work closely with IT teams, project managers, and stakeholders to implement and enhance student management platforms.This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to shape the future of student systems technology in higher education.
Responsibilities✅ Application Architecture & DevelopmentDesign and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
Align technical solutions with institutional goals and student system needs.
Lead the integration of SIS, LMS, and other enterprise applications.✅ Data Integration & ManagementDevelop and maintain ETL processes, data pipelines, and database solutions.
Ensure accurate and compliant student data management.
Support data migration, governance, and security enhancements.✅ System Security & ComplianceEnsure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR, and NYS data protection laws.
Implement security measures to protect sensitive student data.
Monitor and resolve system vulnerabilities and risks.✅ Technical Leadership & InnovationProvide strategic guidance on business and functional matters.
Lead code reviews and development best practices.
Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and propose improvements.✅ Collaboration & Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with Project Management Office (PMO), IT teams, and higher education stakeholders.
Drive process improvements and technical efficiencies.
Ensure successful technology consolidation and system optimization.
Qualifications✅ Education & ExperienceMinimum 7 years of experience in education, government, or corporate IT projects.
Strong expertise in application design, development, and architecture.
Experience working with higher education systems preferred.✅ Technical SkillsExperience with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, or similar).Proficiency in ETL processes, data governance, and database management.
Knowledge of integration tools and enterprise platforms such as:
Banner (SIS), Brightspace (LMS), PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, PowerCampus, Slate (CRM), Mulesoft, Oracle Databases.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and project management tools (Microsoft Suite, TeamDynamix).Strong problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.✅ Soft SkillsStrong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization abilities.
