JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable & Billing Clerk performs clerical, billing, and administrative tasks in the day-to-day operations of the business or program office to which assigned while ensuring that services provided are in alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Assistant Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, CFO or other designee
Directs:
May supervise billing and coding volunteers
Other:
Works cooperatively with all staff to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives and performance measures of the program and agency
Job Functions:
Ensures that clients have access, as needed, to all five pillars of the social determinants of health with a trauma informed lens through Agency services and/or community partners. Maintain an accurate, current computerized contract and funder database and filing system. Prepare paperwork and finalize billings to contractors and funders. Assist in tracking activity and expense reports to verify accurate information for billing purposes. Assist with the preparation of various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Assist with the preparation of materials for board and committee meetings as applicable. Manage a notification system to alert management and direct service staff of due dates such as contract deadlines for client summary report, contract compliance report to partners, funders, contractors, and internal productivity and program achievement report; and date stamp report before mailing. Maintain good relationships with stakeholders (including current and potential clients, community and co-workers), focusing on providing excellent and culturally sensitive customer service and presenting a positive image of the agency in all community and stakeholder interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:
High school diploma; and six (6) hours college course work in accounting desirable. At least four (4) years of bookkeeping experience preferred; and three (3) years in an automated accounts receivable position preferred. Knowledge of accounting software, preferably fund accounting for non-profits is desirable; and skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), analytical skills, and strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is highly desirable. Fast and accurate data entry skills and excellent 10-key by touch skills. Certification in medical billing and coding preferred. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable. State of Texas vehicle operator's license and proof of liability insurance, as applicable.
