ELECTRICAL DISCIPLINE/DESIGN LEAD

Fulltime/Permanent Essential Functions:

Design Accuracy :

Ensure accuracy of finished product design, including completeness, conflict avoidance, and alignment with client objectives throughout the project lifecycle.

Problem Solving :

Develop solutions for various engineering challenges.

Quality & Innovation :

Support the Electrical Practice Lead to uphold high quality standards and innovative design strategies, while enhancing staff technical expertise.

Staff Optimization :

Collaborate with the Electrical Practice Lead and Project Managers to optimize studio staff utilization.

Project Management :

Ensure projects remain within scope, on schedule, and within budget.

Staff Management :

Assist the Electrical Practice Lead in recruiting, promoting, and evaluating staff performance. Enforce company policies and terminate underperforming employees.

Mentorship :

Mentor and develop staff at all levels.

Data Analysis :

Adjust and correlate data, addressing discrepancies as needed.

Proposals & Presentations :

Support the generation of proposals, presentations, and ensure specification accuracy.

Billing :

Ensure accuracy of billing codes.

Project Participation :

Engage in projects during design, bidding, and construction phases.

Cost & Technical Submissions :

Prepare technical and cost-related aspects for submissions.

Client & Vendor Interaction :

Interface with clients, consultants, and vendors.

Client Meetings :

Attend client meetings to discuss project progress.

Quality Assurance :

Ensure all production adheres to company quality standards.

Secondary Functions:

Communication :

Explain engineering concepts to non-engineering staff.

QA/QC :

Perform day-to-day Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions as necessary.

Other Duties :

Perform other duties as assigned.

Needed Skills:

Engineering Knowledge :

In-depth understanding of design-to-completion engineering processes.

Design Expertise :

Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and design software.

Company Standards :

Thorough understanding of company standards.

QA/QC Knowledge :

Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.

Communication :

Exceptional communication skills.

Leadership :

Ability to model company leadership expectations.

Education/Experience:

Minimum :

Registered Engineer with at least 10 years of experience.
