This role involves mentoring a team of technicians, coordinating production activities, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures. The Lead Technician is also responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, conducting tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and resolve operational challenges. Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role..
Functions:
Perform electrical and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly level to finish goods Load and operate automated manufacturing equipment according to work instructions and follow standard operating procedures Assemble products according to good manufacturing practices, including specification of materials, parts and assembly and operating process equipment Document assembly processes/instructions/status reports for all incoming Grid products Work with Field Service and Engineering staff to assist in troubleshooting in house and field issues as required Assist Manager in production planning Follow all safety requirements across the SPS manufacturing plant and notify your Manager of any potential safety risk Must adhere to all policies and practices of AMSC ensuring the Code of Conduct and highest level of ethics are always maintained Take temperature, pressure, flow, leak rate, vacuum, voltage, current, and related measurements Compile test information, analyze results, and report findings to engineering Education -
Experience:
Minimum:
High School or Technical school with 5+ years industry experience
Preferred:
2 year technical degree, journeyman electrician certification or equivalent
Leadership:
3+ years of team leadership experience.
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
Basic technical and mechanical skills Skilled in reading and interpreting electro-mechanical assembly drawings and BOMs Demonstrated high level of attention to detail Ability to work in a team environment and independently with limited supervision. Ability to read blueprints and other technical data sheets would be helpful Understanding of safety practices in a plant environment Ability to effectively communicate both verbally/written Computer literate in spread sheets, word processing and internet Flexibility to work overtime Medium to heavy work must be able to lift 75 pounds or exert 75 pounds of force on a regular basis US Citizen AMSC is an
