Job Description

Summary This Utility driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck. Trucks driven include but are not limited to belly dumps, dump truck, roll offs and semi-tractor truck with attached trailers. Job Description Maintains a safe and clean working vehicle Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle Understands and practices operating as prescribed in Athens Services Safety Rules Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls before attempting service Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings Works closely with Supervisors to improve efficiencies & identify problem or unsafe acts Notifies Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage Performs other duties as assigned Attaches and removes pup trailers, belly dump & side dump trailers, transfer trailers and tilt/transport trailers to truck as needed Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required Shuttle trucks within the yard Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Class C Driver's License Minimum of six (6) months experience in a heavy labor role Acceptable driving record. (H-6 printout will be requested) Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English / Spanish Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry Forklift certified
Physical/Environmental Demands:
Physical:
Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously. Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously. Eye/hand coordination, handling, & wrist motion continuously. Bending, reaching, stretching, frequently, and lifting ≤ 50 Lbs. frequently.
Environmental:
Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, & noise continuously. Works outside only.
Hours:
12:30 pm to 9:00 pm Mon-Sat •Sun as needed
Salary:
$21.15 - $23.65 per hour
