The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek. Job Type Unclassified Department Facilities Management About the Position Operations and Maintenance is a customer-driven support division providing day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of all County Facilities. The Duty Plant Operator operates and monitors the 24-hour Facilities Automation System (FAS). This position initiates corrective action in trouble or emergencies by dispatching appropriate staff for various HVAC equipment, mechanical equipment, boilers, fire and elevator alarms, and other services. This is an overnight position subject to shift differential. It requires the employee to be in the office or customer-facing for all hours worked. Maintain constant verbal communications with clients and field technicians, monitor and control temperatures utilizing the Facilities Automation System computer, notify proper authorities and management staff on emergency calls Monitor HVAC, chemical treatment/refrigerant alarms, elevator, and fire alarms and respond appropriately Monitor and respond to building indoor air quality issues Maintain the duty operator log and a variety of other daily logs Collect and analyze data to ensure continuous operation of pump systems and air handling equipment throughout the administration, courts, jails, and other buildings of the County Work assigned shifts to support the 24-hour per day, 7-day a-week operation of the call center and maintain regular and reliable attendance Call out on-call personnel during after-hours emergency situations Other job duties as assigned Working Conditions Exerting 50

While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
