Commercial Real Estate Loan Specialist III Honolulu, HI, United States
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of Division Management, the CRE Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for reviewing credit requests, preparing required documents, booking, disbursing and administering all credit facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluates and reviews Customer Asset Management (CAM). Orders loan documents, reviews for compliance with terms of loan and coordinates corrections/revisions. May order flood zone certification, request organizational, trust, leases or other documents from borrower/Primary Relationship Officer (PRO). Orders and reviews preliminary title reports from Title Company/Escrow to verify Bank's lien position. Resolves or recommends solutions to correct discrepancies. Prepares and coordinates loan package and may prepare Notification of Loan Activity (NOLA) as necessary. Coordinates and supports loan closing with PRO, Bank's attorney, borrower, and/or borrower's legal counsel. Works with escrow officers, title agents and participant banks regarding closing, funding, and distribution of documents post-closing. Processes loans for booking into Metavante loan system. Administers permanent and construction/development loans, including but not limited to review of borrower's draw requests. Administers and controls participated or syndicated loans with other financial institutions. Administers and determines Libor rate locks and resets, notifying parties. Calculates and coordinates loan payoffs, including prepayment penalties, labor breakage fees and any other release fees. Prepares all collateral release documents. Administers and tracks lot sales, repayments, and partial releases for tract development loans. Reviews escrow settlement statements to verify release prices comply with terms of loan agreement. Assists PROs in monitoring overdrafts, delinquent loans, maturing loans, receivables, missing CAMs, pending documents, expired facilities, and other reports as required. Prepares reports, including Pending Documentation, suspense/GL reports (AU-3), year-end TEFRA, etc. Obtains and maintains reports from mainframe system. Completes set up of project and document files Maintains timetable and arranges for recordation at proper County recorder's office. Follows up on insurance renewals. Prepares follow-up letters to clients. Acts as the direct liaison between PRO, clients, and other Bank units to fulfill client servicing (loan, deposit, cash management, investments, wire transfers, internal transfers, overdrafts, etc.) needs. Coordinates opening and closing of deposit accounts with assistance of Commercial Banking Service and Support. Researches requests for information and to resolve problems. Initiates corrective action and follows up as needed. Accesses the various Bank computer systems (Metavante, Star PC, Exceptions Desktop, etc.) to obtain information as necessary. Prepares written correspondence for PROs when required. Also provides customer support on routine inquiries. Actively participates in bank sales and referral programs to support unit goals. Keeps abreast of all Bank products and services, and uses this knowledge to identify appropriate cross-selling opportunities. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience. Minimum 2 to 3 years of operational, loan and commercial banking experience with over 5 years of specialized commercial real estate loan documentation experience or equivalent. Should have working knowledge of credit policies regarding commercial loans and related applicable regulations. Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Working knowledge/understanding of Metavante Loan Accounting System, Star PC system, Teller Insight, and Net Imaging. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision. Must be able to read documents and quickly and understand and follow detailed instructions.
