About this job: The Launch Internship Program provides high school students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in the world of work. The Launch Internship Coordinator is a school-based liaison between the school district, business partners and the Career and College Success central office team. The Launch Internship Coordinator provides the support, training and guidance needed to ensure students successfully engage in professional internships in a variety of industries.

What You'll do: Conduct outreach events and meet with students individually to assess interest in and readiness for professional internship opportunities; assist with Launch Program application process. Deliver Career and College Success Skills Training curriculum in the classroom and/or in workshop format during Skills Training conference. Act as teacher-of-record for internship course; submit grades and reports in Infinite Campus as need or coordinate with qualified teaching staff. Facilitate intern seminars during summer session. Conduct internship site visits to identify intern successes and/or performance issues; facilitate development of performance plan when needed. Assist with meaningful closure of internship if internship if discontinued due to intern performance. As directed by school leadership, provide occasional support for planning, execution, and logistics for DPS career exploration, mentoring, and youth apprenticeship program recruitment and activities. Utilize data collection platforms such as Salesforce and Infinite Campus to track program participation. Work in collaboration with Career and College Success team to evaluate results for continued program improvement. Obtain/maintain small activity bus certification in order to operate small activity bus for all Career and College Success events and assist in the exchange of bus with other Career and College Success schools.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma / GED

  • Human Services, Psychology, Business, Education
  • Preferred Two (2) or more years youth development, urban education, non-profit management, social work, psychology, or related field.
Knowledge with Google Suite Effective time management and organizational skills Effective communication skills Strong attention to detail Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance Work collaboratively with others on a team High degree of integrity in handling confidential information Knowledge of Microsoft Office products incl ding Word, Excel, web-based databases and Outlook Highly developed time management and organizational skills Strong communication skills Strong attention to detail Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance Work collaboratively with others on a team High degree of integrity in handling confidential information Strong facilitation and classroom management skills a must Must demonstrate desire and ability to work effectively with urban youth in both individual and group settings Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
