The Facilities Technician position consists of completing work orders, including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, framing and drywall, as well as other general facilities needs. They will collaborate with the facilities/operations team to ensure projects are completed as directed and in a safe manner as well as work on special projects and other shop work as directed by the supervisor or director. The ideal candidate must be safety minded with exceptional customer service skills.What You'll Do:
Perform plumbing repairs and projects including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pipes, fixtures, valves, and drainage systems across various facility areas. Complete external and internal repairs which may include, but is not limited to drywall repairs, installation and removal of flooring, doors, windows & hardware, painting, fence and gate repairs, electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance, appliance repairs, boilers and HVAC systems, as well as common area clean-up. Fabricate and repair cabinets, counters, benches, and other wooden or metal structures. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established safety policies and procedures. Compile job documentation, such as certificates of completion, preventative maintenance checklists and reports. Load and unload building materials. Safely setup and operate large powered machinery and equipment (e.g., saws, drills, grinders, pressure cleaners, jackhammers and power tools, jigs) to complete tasks/projects. Safely set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Operate construction-related equipment (e.g., driving trucks or forklifts/scissor lifts). Communicate with Supervisor on all work orders. Participate in emergency and after hours coverage based on the established schedule or as required. Maintain storage facilities, inventory and equipment in an orderly, working condition. Other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
Must have 3+ years' experience in facilities or construction related work. Strong plumbing experience. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work. Able to safely maintain and operate required tools and machinery. Knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements; knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work. Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.HVAC/CPO
certifications, preferred but not required. Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier - driving to all locations is required. Travel to all facilities nationwide as necessary. Adhere to all safety protocols. Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime required. Ability to show up to work on time. Strong time management, organizational and follow up skills. Ability to maintain focus when having to work individually. High School Diploma or GED preferred Must be authorized to work in the United States. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements and this role's Collective Bargaining Agreement, the pay rate this position is $36.25 per hour.
