Job Summary:
Cortese Construction, a leading construction company specializing in kitchen and bathroom renovations, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Kitchen and Bathroom Lead Finisher. As the Lead Finisher, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of finishing work in kitchen and bathroom projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, and timely project completion. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the finishing phase of kitchen, bathroom, and basement remodeling projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and other team members to develop a detailed project timeline and ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee the installation and finishing of cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, tiles, flooring, fixtures
  • Manage and maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools & materials are properly stored.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations on all job sites.
  • Train and supervise junior finishers and provide guidance and support when needed.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise during the finishing phase.
  • Maintain a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the project.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and managers, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding the finishing process.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and techniques relevant to remodeling.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification or vocational training in carpentry, cabinetry, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a finish carpenter or in a similar role, with a focus on kitchen & bath renovations.
  • Strong knowledge of various finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
