Position Overview:

TELICS is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team. As a Construction Technician, you will build, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain the google fiber network. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, has attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities :

• Installing and testing copper and fiber cabling and associated peripherals, and making the required cross connects.
• Install radio mounts, pointing microwave radios
• Installation/construction duties
• Maintenance and troubleshooting
• After hours emergency response

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with CAT5/CAT6/Coaxial cable and structured cabling.
• Experience installing twisted pair copper/coaxial cabling and networking equipment (e.g. Wi-Fi routers, switches, VoIP devices, etc.).
• Knowledge of the physical layer, 66 blocks, 110 blocks, patch panels
• Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues.
• Ability to work in tight telecommunications closets, lift up to 25 lbs.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Excellent time management skills.

Preferred but not required:

• Technical school or technical training like BISCI.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cabling, fusion splicing, and similar.
• Understanding of mm Wave radio installation and maintenance.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills related to routers, switches and hubs, and streaming devices.
• fiber OSP installation experience
