Why does the job exist? This position will provide mission critical and high-level technical assistance to the Office of the State Engineer/Interstate Stream Commission (OSE/ISC) in the areas of Information Technology (IT) and specifically personal computing technologies and computer systems administration. This position is part of a Technical Support Specialist team providing high quality computer support services to 300+ employees throughout the state. The position is responsible for assisting in the development of detailed documentation for all the Unit's processes. How does it get done? Services provided include Desktop Software and Hardware Installation/Support, PC, Plotter and Printer Installation and Support, Server Support, and Network Support. This position is responsible for the integrity of the mission critical OSE/ISC network which delivers IT services in support of the agency's programs, provides support to all OSE/ISC divisions and employees. The incumbent will provide end user support administer and support video conferencing. Who are the customers? The primary customers will be employees within the Office of the State Engineer/Interstate Stream Commission. Ideal Candidate The primary customers will be employees within the Office of the State Engineer/Interstate Stream Commission. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in providing technical support to end- users for computer hardware, software, and/or network related problems. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required.
