Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various wired and wireless equipment. This role requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Setup:
Install and uninstall wireless microwave systems on client rooftops and towers. Physically install Access Points, Phones, Cameras, Routers, Switches, and other related equipment. Install and terminate shielded CAT5/CAT6 and RJ11 cables. Perform cable installations, including EMT, PVC, direct burial, and aerial.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting for all isp.net services. Perform minor IT-related repairs in the field with remote support from the Engineering department.
Safety & Compliance, Project Participation:
Strictly adhere to safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, your team, and customers. Participate in all internal and external company projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Educational & Professional:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass background checks. Must be over 21 years of age. Spanish Speakers is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with cable testing equipment such as those from Fluke or Ideal. Proficient in using Windows operating systems and configuring or modifying local IP addresses. Prior experience in WISP, satellite installation, or a similar field is highly preferred. Experience with Cox or DirectTV also considered.
Physical & Environmental:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs., including 40ft ladders. Comfortable working at heights, including climbing towers up to 160ft and accessing building rooftops up to 400ft. Manual dexterity with proficient use of hand and power tools. Visual acuity to distinguish colors and fine details for installation and troubleshooting. Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
Personal Attributes:
