About this Role The Onboarding Team leads the onboarding of portfolios and supports account maintenance within the retail channel. Onboarding sits at the center of internal BlackRock teams (sales, portfolio management, investment operations, and corporate functions) across all regions. We work hard and move quickly as a well-coordinated, collaborative team whose exceptional people are focused on providing extraordinary client service. Key Responsibilities- Onboarding of new SMA client accounts within BlackRock's retail channels.
- Accurate & timely responses to all requests coming in to the SMA New Accounts Onboarding team from internal partners & external clients.
- In partnership with our sales and relationship teams, ensure that the onboarding team is exceeding client expectations by providing clarity around business requirements to launch a new portfolio or effect a desired change.
- Build strong relationships across the organization by listening carefully to our internal stakeholders (Sales, Portfolio Managers) and work hard to deliver for the firm.
- Manage time between day-to-day responsibilities and project involvement.
- Liaise with senior management in weekly/monthly meetings.
- Understand and interpret the differences in the various BlackRock products.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation. Qualifications
- 1-5 years industry experience.
- Strong client management skills, service philosophy, and risk mitigation mentality required.
- Experience in the investment management/asset management business.
- Experience directly or indirectly supporting Retail & Institutional clients.
- Knowledge of the different participants in the fund management business and their roles.
- Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working with Excel & Access.
- Knowledge of BlackRock's internal processes, products, and fund structures a plus.
