Position Summary & Responsibilities:
IT Support Analyst The Department of Administration (DofA), Office of Systems Management (OSM) is accepting applications to fill an IT Support Analyst position. The Office of Systems Management is responsible for the information systems and technology needs for the Department of Administration. The position reports to the Deputy Director of Enterprise Systems and is part of an end user services team that is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees for a range of hardware and software related systems. The IT Support Analyst will respond to and diagnose IT problems through discussion with users, which includes troubleshooting, fault rectification and problem escalation. The IT Support Analyst will provide quality and complete support of workstations, IT applications as well as administration and support of business systems servers for the Department of Administration. This customer service and IT driven responsibility will require technicians with unique skillsets, adaptable across multiple applications and systems and the ability to resolve a variety of issues quickly and accurately. The IT Support Analyst will work to ensure that the Office of Systems Management is providing quality IT services to the agency. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Troubleshoot incident tickets and provide end-to-end user support. Provide mid to high-level technical support for end users by telephone, email, instant messaging, remote services (RDP), or in person. Provide mid/high-level technical support for end users within DofA by using troubleshooting technique to resolve hardware and software issues for: Printers, Laptops, PC's, Operating Systems, MS Office, DNS, DHCP, network file services, connectivity, phones, internet browsing, software installation, mobile devices, wireless access, and file transfer services. Deploy, install, and upgrade computer hardware and software as needed using tools provided by DofA. Assist users in installing software and ensures that it runs with their network settings and operating system. Assist in hardware and software evaluation and recommends upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure Troubleshoot connection and performance issues and provides guidance on IT-related processes and procedures. Identify, investigate, and resolve users' problems with computer software and hardware. Provide documentation on each incident resolution and help establish formal standards and procedures to be used in supporting computer users. Administer the DofA organizational unit within Active Directory. Maintain and manage asset inventory for hardware and software tracking. Consult with and advise business stakeholders on IT best practices and application requirements. Troubleshoot server applications. Provide system design architecture analysis.
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma/ GED or completion of a technical school program in information technology or a relevant field.
Minimum Qualifications:
Customer-service focus and a collaborative mindset Minimum 1 year of experience in installing, upgrading, troubleshooting commonly used hardware and software including desktops, laptops, printers, or mobile devices. Ability to work with commonly used operating systems Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills The ability to communicate technical information in an accessible manner to non-technical employees Demonstrate an ability to test and maintain software Ability to establish effective working relationships with numerous external stakeholders and internal business units Basic knowledge of networking principles and operating systems Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment Strong documentation skills and attention to detail Demonstrate leadership, initiative, and ability to work on complex tasks with limited supervision Demonstrate a commitment to quality and knowledge of QA principles Demonstrated organizational awareness, particularly mission and strategic alignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on IT systems and software usage. Provide advanced technical support and guidance to team members, assisting with issue resolution and knowledge transfer. Familiarity with basic networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with help desk ticketing systems and IT service management processes (e.g., ITIL). Moderate levels of experience in supporting Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows Enterprise operating systems and applications are highly desired Demonstrate the ability to document support activities, solutions, and procedures for knowledge base articles. Active Directory expertise. Help Desk and customer support experience with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple systems, work well independently and with team members Experience with user onboarding and offboarding, including imaging, installing, and configuring software on user devices. Vendor neutral certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent. Vendor specific certifications such as Microsoft certifications.
