Lead Certified Phlebotomy Technician II - Santa Monica Hospital (part of University of California Los Angeles) 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Santa Monica, CA Description As a Lead Phlebotomist with the Santa Monica Hospital Laboratory, your duties include: On a daily basis, assess overall workload for any area that needs help Ensures work is performed properly and in a timely manner and all benches are covered by competent staff Performs advance level pre-analytical and post-analytical activities and specimen processing duties Troubleshoots specimen/test order problems, and Total Lab Automation line issues Performs preventive maintenance of equipment Monitor inventory of pre-analytical supplies Demonstrates effective communication with team members, patients, internal and external laboratory customers and partners Performs phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, including neonatal/pediatric patients Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information Enter and verify patient and test info into computer Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas Prepare samples for transport to referral labs Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens Assist with training in phlebotomy and/or specimen processing
Salary Range:
$33.78 - $42.84/hour Qualifications Current and valid California State CPT certificate High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET) At least five(5) years of licensed phlebotomy experience in high volume hospital setting Previous experience performing specimen processing in an acute care facility, highly preferred Previous experience in EPIC, highly preferred Knowledge of Clinical Lab test names and their abbreviated forms Ability to multi-task with accuracy Excellent time and organizational skills Skill in using a computer and printerOther Job Posting Details
