GENERAL PURPOSE
The Centralized Processor is responsible for handling the processing and closing phase of home equity and consumer loans, while advising borrowers on financial status and methods of payments. This position promotes attention to increasing funded loan volumes from a centralized setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To process all member home equity, consumer loan/new account applications and correspondence received from Centralized Loan Officers. Provide accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members. To accurately process all assigned reports and projects in a timely manner. Supports loan officers to meet or exceed application to close ratios, closed loan volume, closed loan units, funded loan goal, and loan cross-sale ratio every month. Ensures that each loan is processed accurately and in a timely manner by making sure that each one is properly completed, documented, closed, disbursed, coordinated, and filed. Informs Centralized Loan Officers of discrepancies in titles or surveys. Treats all credit union members and employees with a positive and cooperative attitude. Serves as a loan processor to assist in collecting supporting documentation to approve and complete any loan file. Prepares loan documents for approved loans according to policies, procedures, and regulations. Must competently present loan documents according to policies and regulations for members signature. Ensure the protection of the credit unions assets through adequate and accurate verification of property values, tax assessments, members employment history and earnings, credit information, flood certification and other necessary date utilized in loan decisioning. Handles the preparation of all necessary vehicle title documentation to ensure proper filing of lien. Work closely with Sr. Centralized Lending Manager to improve processes, procedures, and efficiencies in the centralized lending department. Support promotions and strategies to meet credit unions goals. Must participate in Credit Union business development and community relations activities. Comply with all company, third party, agreed, local, states, and federal guidelines, rules, and regulations associated with residential lending. Adhere to all service standards as outlined in the credit unions policies and procedures. Responsible for the compliance of all residential real estate loans Practice and ensure organizational policies and procedures in accordance with BSA and federal regulation compliance. Complete accurate and timely required BSA documentation in compliance with BSA policies and procedures, to include and not limited to OFAC, CTR, and SAR. Ensures that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies, procedures, approval authority and all fair lending laws (i.e. Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Consumer Credit Protection Act, Truth In Lending Act, Fair Housing Act and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, etc.). Ensures compliance with the non-discrimination provisions of applicable fair lending laws and regulations. Perform other duties as needed or requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY A
significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing member and personal services. This includes member needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of member satisfaction. Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and chooses the most appropriate one. Talks to others to convey information effectively. Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of lending and lending regulations. Thorough knowledge of lending products and credit union lending policies. Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING A
high school education or
GED. EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years lending and residential mortgage loan origination background preferred but would consider other related experience. Prefer extensive financial institution background.
