We are seeking a skilled Painter/Surfacer to join our team in Pasadena, CA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in surfacing, priming, and painting , with experience working on fiberglass, metal, clay, and foam . This role requires a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques, coating applications, and high-quality finishing for various materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform surfacing, sanding, and finishing to ensure smooth, high-quality surfaces. Apply primers, sealers, and topcoats using spray, brush, or other finishing techniques. Paint and coat materials such as fiberglass, metal, clay, and foam with precision. Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve the desired color, texture, and durability. Use various application techniques, including spray guns, airbrushes, rollers, and manual brushing . Ensure proper surface preparation, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking before painting. Inspect finished surfaces for defects, inconsistencies, or required touch-ups . Maintain and clean painting equipment, spray booths, and work areas. Follow safety protocols and proper handling of paints, solvents, and chemicals . Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to meet quality standards and deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years in surfacing, painting, and finishing in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in surface preparation, sanding, priming, and painting . Ability to work with fiberglass, metal, clay, and foam . Proficiency with paint mixing, spray application, and finishing techniques .

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in painting or finishing preferred. Attention to

Detail:

Strong eye for color consistency, smooth finishes, and defect-free coatings .

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50 lbs, and work in a paint booth or shop environment .

Preferred Qualifications:
