We are seeking a dedicated Staff Technician, Quality System Compliance to join our Interiors Engineering Development Lab (EDL). In this role, you'll operate with minimal supervision, performing moderately complex quality tasks that are integral to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Your expertise will be a valuable resource across a variety of tasks, contributing to the success and innovation of our engineering initiatives. Collaborative Testing:
Partner with engineers to inspect and test commercial aircraft seats and furniture, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards.Quality Support:
Provide essential quality support to engineers across various tasks, contributing to the overall success of engineering projects.Technical Consultation:
Collaborate closely with engineers to discuss the details and implications of test article builds, test procedures, and results, ensuring accurate and effective outcomes.Audit Execution:
Conduct thorough product and process audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to quality protocols.Root Cause Analysis:
Identify the causes of rejects and diligently follow through with corrective actions to prevent recurrence and enhance product quality.Nonconformity Management:
Accurately identify and document nonconformities according to Bills of Materials (BOMs) for parts inspected on 8130-9s, maintaining rigorous compliance and traceability.Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.Qualifications We Prefer:
Mechanical & Manufacturing Expertise:
Strong proficiency in basic mechanical and manufacturing concepts, allowing for effective support in testing and quality assurance tasks.Exceptional Communication:
Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Technical Proficiency:
Basic computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.Engineering Acumen:
Solid understanding of engineering drawing interpretations, enabling precise execution of tasks.FAA Documentation:
Experience in completing FAA Form 8130-9, demonstrating familiarity with regulatory compliance.Industry Experience:
Background in highly regulated industries, particularly aerospace or automotive, ensuring familiarity with strict standards and procedures.Quality Assurance Experience:
Proven experience in a testing and quality assurance environment, ensuring products meet or exceed specifications.Organizational Skills:
Well-organized with sound judgment, capable of multitasking and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.Modeling Software Knowledge:
Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling software, enhancing the ability to visualize and interpret designs.Machining & Fabrication Knowledge:
