Their duties include creating a layout from a set of construction plans, analyzing the components using engineering software, and coordinating the project from design to production. Some mathematics skills required for load calculations. Training is provided and all levels and experience are welcome. Essential Functions The ability to interpret architectural or structural construction plans as it applies to the components and structure to be designed. Input framing layouts for ANY of the following (one or more): Wood manufactured/engineered roof trusses. Wood open-web floor trusses. Engineered wood product and joists, wood framed wall panels. Occasionally calculate and apply area load conditions as specified or required by local codes or jurisdiction requirements. Utilize engineering software (including MiTek CAD) to analyze components. Output production paperwork and construction layouts. Develop an in-depth knowledge of industry principles. Communicate clearly and effectively with all team members. Works with other members of the team in a cooperative, collaborative, respectful, and kind manner to continuously contribute towards accomplishing company and personnel goals and objectives. Require minimal supervision as it relates to attendance and punctuality, work performance, quality results, adherence to safety rules, policies, and regulations, and team engagement and relations. Participate in a positive company culture demonstrated by their prompt attendance, reliability, and positive interactions with their teammates and co-workers. Demonstrates an active willingness and interest to learn and apply Lean Manufacturing practices such as maintaining a clean and orderly work area using 5S principles (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Performs other duties as needed or otherwise assigned by Area Production Manager. EWP/Joist Design:
iStruct, isPlan, isDesign Work Environment While performing the duties of a design job, employee will be in an office environment, which means sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. This is not a physically demanding job. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Designer is expected to work a minimum of 8 hours a day Monday - Friday generally available from 8am-4pm with flexible start and end times. Overtime is available. Schedule can be adjusted with approval from Head of Design. Required Education and Experience This position requires the skills generally learned through achieving a high school diploma or GED; however, it is not required so long as all necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities are learned and demonstrated routinely and to the degree necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Industry or college experience in Engineering or Architecture is a plus. Work Authorization Employment at Structural LLC requires verifiable authorization to work in the United States of America.
