  Trailer Mechanic
• Job Description
• We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers. The role involves conducting DOT inspections of trucks and tanker trailers, excluding engine or transmission work, which is covered under warranty. Candidates must have their own tools, ideally a rolling toolbox.
• Responsibilities
• + Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers.

+ Conduct DOT inspections of trucks and tanker trailers. + Prepare repair orders as per company policy. + Work effectively and safely within the shop area and when making road calls without supervision. + Complete records in a timely manner in compliance with company rules and requirements. + Comply with and continually update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company standards and requirements. + Ensure personal safety and maintain a clean and safe environment within the shop. + Properly dispose of all waste products, both hazardous and non-hazardous. + Communicate with team members as required. + Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors or the CSC Manager.

• Essential Skills
• + High School Education or equivalent.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. + Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits. + Meet qualification requirements as stipulated in Sections 396.19 and 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for vehicle inspections and brake maintenance/repairs. + Ability to safely operate tractor/trailer units within terminal premises. + Technical knowledge to handle components such as air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs, any of which may exceed 100 lbs in weight. + Perform inspections on specification cargo tanks if the facility is a DOT Registered Inspector. + Inspect, repair, or replace domes, valves, vents, or other equipment as necessary. + Basic mechanic skills and thorough knowledge of DOT regulations. + Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of individuals. + Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + ASE Brake certification preferred (must be willing to obtain within the first 180 days of employment).

+ Experience with DOT 406, 407, and 412 tanker/cargo tankers highly preferred. + Cargo tank inspection certification preferred (must be willing to obtain). + CDL Class A is a plus, but not required. + Experience with trailer repair, electrical, mechanical, inspection, pneumatics, brake, troubleshooting, suspension, DOT inspection, hydraulics, and wiring. + Tanker trailer experience highly preferred; flatbed trailer experience considered.

• The work environment is a normal shop setting with concrete floors and sometimes uneven or slippery surfaces. The shop has two bays and mechanics must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must have their own tools to be considered a true mechanic in this space.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr. dental vision 401k medical They offer tuition reimbursement, tools paid for after to employees that complete and pass the ASE Cert classes.

• This is a fully onsite position in Park City,KS.
