$ 17.84-26.62 USD UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Clinical Support Specialist III to support Women's Imaging St. Margaret's! This position will work daylight and evening shifts Monday through Friday, as well as rotating Saturdays. Travel is expected about 50% of the time in this role. Hours and travel requirements are subject to change based on business needs. Under the general direction of the Manager/Coordinator, the Clinical Support Specialist III performs a broad range of clinical support services with an active customer interface, serving as a team leader and resource individual to ensure efficient provision of services. Duties will also include but are not limited to, greeting, and registering patients, rooming patients, triaging phone lines, scheduling appointments, supporting the staff with administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service and patient care.
Responsibilities:
Maintain office equipment and inform appropriate personnel of service needs. Interact directly with patients, family members, staff members, and healthcare professionals. Utilize a computer system to enter, retrieve, edit, and print data as required. Answer work area telephones and triage calls as appropriate. Possess knowledge of pre-authorization requirements for imaging procedures. Possess in-depth knowledge of specific department functions (i.e., Scheduling, mammography screening program, file maintenance, etc.) Follow the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient. Prepare departmental reports, forms, and miscellaneous forms as required. Obtain information and schedule examination appointments.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent. One year of previous experience in the use of computers, patient record maintenance, and/or reception is required. In-depth working knowledge of Hospital and Radiology Information Systems. Knowledge of third-party healthcare coverage and billing requirements. Previous experience with scheduling (appointments, meetings, etc.) preferred. Previous medical office and/or healthcare work experience is preferred. Strong computer and phone skills are highly preferred.
