Job Description

Mechanical Technician (part of Allegis Group) 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Portland, OR 97217 We are hiring a Technician to support an automotive manufacturer in Portland, OR. You will be a part of a team in support of the building of prototype vehicles. If you have strong mechanical skills in building, diagnosis, and troubleshooting, and you have a passion for cutting-edge vehicle technology, this job is for you. To be considered for this position you must have professional experience as a Mechanical, or Automotive Technician. Reading blueprints/schematics, using a variety of mechanical tools, and building some sort of complex product or equipment is required.
DUTIES:
You will be assigned to assemble and support the building of vehicles from the ground up, starting from the frame rails. They may be bolting on brackets, installing wiring and cabling, or working with engineers to problem solve, troubleshoot, etc. By the end of every day, they should be able to see advancement in their respective builds. The environment is a shop, where they will be working onsite with a collaborative team of engineers and technicians.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and maintain sensors (cameras, radar, lidar), wiring harnesses, and other electronic/mechanical components.
Documentation:
Create and maintain service and maintenance documentation, including service manuals and procedures.
Collaboration:
Work with engineers, technicians, and other cross-functional teams to ensure proper vehicle operation and data collection.
Quality Control:
Perform quality inspections on parts and assembled components.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, with a two-year technical degree or higher preferred. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with wiring, and knowledge of automotive systems.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Communication:
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
Adaptability:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Experience:
Experience in automotive maintenance, fleet maintenance, or related fields is a plus.
Job Type:

$32.00 - $36.00 per hour
