Successful candidate should be able to thrive in a fast paced laboratory, with the ability to prioritize and communicate with multiple departments. This is a 1st shift posiiton with hours falling between 5am-3pm.
Summary:
The Quality Laboratory Technician performs routine analyses of materials and blends for use in finished products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows standard operating procedures and other controlled documents as outline by the IKI Quality Manual Analyze incoming chemicals and incoming materials Analyze blends in-process and finished products Enter data into computer Analyze line and tank flushes Calibrate instruments Coordinate testing to ensure timely flow of production Prepare lab samples Obtain re-samples when necessary Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Procedures Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Attention to detail and thoroughness Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment Maintain clean and organized workspace Effective prioritization and self-motivation skills Ability to interpret and correlate data Ability to read, record data, and follow instructions Basic math and computer skills Ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's or Bachelor's in Chemistry preferred Previous experience in a laboratory setting Laboratory experience with HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and other wet chemistry techniques required
Work Environment:
Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals. Proper PPE must be worn, and safety precautions must be followed.
Physical Demands:
Stands 75%, sits 25%, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Pay starting at $25.00 per hour. Exact pay will be based on knowledge, skills and experience.
