Yesterday Secret Unspecified Unspecified Santa Clara, CA (ON-SITE/OFFICE) Responsibilities Join our Software Development team in Santa Clara, CA and support exciting projects across Peraton's Defense sector in areas such as communications, cybersecurity, mission planning and command and control. Conceptualize and create compelling, creative, and user-focused designs for custom software applications for a variety of legacy and modernized systems. This position can be remote, preference is commutable distance from Santa Clara, CA. What you'll do: Create and execute style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standards Develop wireframes, mockups, and/or rapid prototypes supporting design ideas and effectively communicate ideas to various user groups and stakeholders Collaborate closely with product owners, software developers/engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and end users to determine requirements and design ideas/improvements on an Agile development team Analyze user interfaces and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement Conduct testing for design concepts and user experienceQualifications Basic Qualifications:
Education:
BA/BFA degree and 5-7 years experience or high school diploma and 9-11 years of relevant experience. Individual must be U.S. Citizen, be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance Understanding of user-centered design methodologies (Discovery, Design, Development) Experience in user research, user interface design, information architecture, usability testing, human factors, and other related disciplines Knowledge of design fundamentals including information design, interaction design, visual design, and user-centered design best practices Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and proficient with industry standard design tools such as XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, or working knowledge of prototyping applications such as Sketch, Figma, Mural, or InVision Awareness of new trends in interactive design, development, and digital platforms Online portfolio demonstrating design thinking, process, and design experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player Strong written and oral communication skills coupled with good listening skillsDesired Qualifications:
BS in UI/UX, Graphic, or Digital Design is desired. Knowledge of data-driven design and best practices Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript Prior work or educational experience working in an Agile software development environment Basic understanding of Accessibility (Section 508 Compliance), Plain language, and other standard best practicesBenefits:
