ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide Software Engineering expertise in the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software. Work with Government client in the evaluation of software intensive programs and processes, software requirements analysis activities, and software design evaluations and construction reviews. Support software configuration management, software engineering management, software engineering processes development, software tools and methods analysis, and software quality assessments. Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings to integrate software design principles across disciplines and the Systems Engineering Life Cycle. Work with Government client on software related product selection and implementation activities, define the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the system, and support implementation of measures to ensure security awareness and compliance. Support the technical review process and assess performance and work products Identify software development risks, assist in joint SW/HW impact analyses and develop mitigation strategies to reduce system development acquisition risks Support system level test objectives development, test and evaluation, and assess/verify test performance Evaluate information protection needs against cyber-attacks and document information protection policies. Evaluate IT threats and vulnerabilities to determine whether additional safeguards are needed Support vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation Conduct certification tests that include verification that the features and assurances required for each protection level are in place The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end System Development Life Cycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
More than 10 years relevant Software Engineering experience in support of operational systems, with preference with military or government activity. This position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, the ability to plan and organize work, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires a detail-oriented self-starter experienced in supporting/interfacing with senior Government leaders and other technical/business professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Customs and Border Protection (CBP) experience is highly desired. Experience with DHS joint operations, DHS acquisition policy, DHS systems engineering lifecycle is desired. Technical writing experience is highly desired. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint are required. Schedule risk assessment and business analysis software experience is also desired. A Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional, Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), or Certified Software Engineer (CSE) certification is desired.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and be willing and able to obtain a CBP Public Trust prior to start
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% The projected compensation range for this position is $114,100.00-$191,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
