Job Description
Job Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the restaurant's equipment and systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and addressing emergency repairs for kitchen appliances (includes hot and cold kitchen equipment, may include refrigeration repair), HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical components.Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on kitchen appliances (e.g., (hot side, cold side, fryers, grills, walk-in-freezers/coolers, ice machines, ovens etc.) and other equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.Preventative Maintenance:
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations for all equipment.Systems Management:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Ensure the proper functioning of plumbing systems, including sinks, drains, and water supply lines.Emergency Response:
Respond quickly to emergency repair requests, including equipment breakdowns and system failures. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized repairs when necessary.Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities meet health and safety standards. Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with restaurant staff to understand and address their equipment and maintenance needs. Provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use and care of equipment.Additional :
Get estimates on all work and materials prior to scheduling job. Maintain records, inventory of parts. Assist with the operation of preventive maintenance programs designed to prolong the useful life of the equipment and facilities. Manage Freight Costs Inspect and review work of subcontractors.Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or of experience in a maintenance or technician role, preferably within a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment. Valid driver's license Subject to background check and drug testSkills:
Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards. Excellent problem-solving, time management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and high temperatures. Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods. We Offer theFollowing:
