Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient x-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients.

Duties:

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing other support as needed
• Take and develop patient x-rays as directed by the dentist
• Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
• Assist with front desk duties such as answering phone calls, greeting patients, and handling paperwork

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred
• X-ray certification required
• Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with medical coding is a plus
