Building Automation Technician Vantage Consulting Winter Park, FL 32790 Systems Specialist - Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Location:
Orlando, FL About the Role A global leader in smart infrastructure is seeking a Systems Specialist with hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS). In this role, you'll be responsible for commissioning, configuring, and supporting integrated BAS solutions in commercial buildings. You'll work with technologies that enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort — helping clients optimize performance across HVAC, lighting, and energy systems. What You'll Do Commission, test, and troubleshoot BAS on active construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specs and schedules Work with industry-leading platforms such as Siemens Desigo , Tridium Niagara , Johnson Controls Metasys Configure BAS components including controllers, user interfaces, network devices, and automated backups Validate programming logic, control sequences, and system functionality across HVAC and energy systems Perform operational testing, generate reports, and assist with client handover and training Collaborate with project teams and contractors; maintain clear documentation Participate in on-call rotation and occasional overnight travel What You'll Bring 1+ year of experience with BAS or HVAC control systems Familiarity with at least one major BAS platform (e.g., Desigo, Niagara, Metasys, Honeywell) Electro-mechanical skills and ability to interpret construction documents Comfortable with IT tools and networking (laptops, mobile devices, IP configuration, etc.) Able to work in varied environments (ceilings, crawlspaces, rooftops, mechanical spaces) Willing to work overtime as needed Must be 18+, have a valid driver's license, and be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required); Associate's or Bachelor's in electronics, mechanical engineering, or similar preferred Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks protocols Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Compensation & Benefits Depending on experience and certifications Full health, dental, vision, and wellness benefits Ongoing technical training and BAS certification opportunities Be part of smart building projects driving energy efficiency and innovation across the industry
