As a Lead Fermentation Manufacturing Technician, you will direct day-to-day processing activities for Fermentation operations from the production floor. You will schedule and direct employees within the department, communicate expectations, address questions and concerns of the group, and communicate scheduling activities with outside departments. Your daily activities will include a variety of tasks such as: Using current Good Manufacturing Practices, operate all stages of the fermentation process including media prep, fermentation, harvesting, ultrafiltration, precipitation, and powder drying/packaging. Work independently on assignments and demonstrate the ability to recognize and avoid process deviations and in-process variations. Learn pertinent or relevant Standard Operating Procedures and demonstrate proficiency through the routine performance of procedures. Train and direct others in the use of Standard Operating Procedures and the adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices. Audit in-process and completed batch records and work with Fermentation team and/or QA to rectify any issues. Troubleshoot on process/equipment issues and escalate as needed. This position could be a great fit for you enjoy having responsibility for a wide variety of manufacturing tasks and have a strong mechanical aptitude along with the following: High School diploma required. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in the sciences preferred. Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry, emphasis on fermentation preferred. Previous training and leadership experience. Strong mechanical aptitude.
