We are a small, fast-paced government contractor looking for an experienced IT Support Specialist with Security Management and DoD experience to join our team! In this role, you'll handle Help Desk support, lead cybersecurity compliance (including CMMC requirements), and help maintain strong cyber hygiene across our two facilities. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level IT professional who enjoys variety, responsibility, and the ability to make a real impact.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Maintain systems security and assist with patching, updates, and backups.
- Support CMMC compliance activities and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Help prepare documentation for audits and assessments.
- Promote cyber hygiene and best practices among employees.
- Manage IT asset inventory and ensure security of equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and related infrastructure (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high levels of availability and security.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices.
- Maintain system backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Implement and maintain security policies and compliance procedures.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures for ongoing operations and audits.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of IT support, help desk, or systems administration experience
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles; CMMC or
NIST SP 800-171
experience a big plus- Proficient with Windows OS, Active Directory, networking, and endpoint protection
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service mindset
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.
Preferred Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+
- Microsoft certifications or other IT/security credentials are a plus
