As a Layout Technician and member of the Graphic Imaging Department you will help bring our customers' package labels to life, enabling them to stand out over the competition, and create a customer experience that is second to none. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, hybrid/remote work available Compensation for Layout Technician will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth Our full benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and much more Key Responsibilities for Layout Technician include: Initial planning of production jobs, including layout, traps, colors, and special instructions that concern all areas of production Creation and preparation of production jobs through utilization of planning software recommendations Cross support for prepress, including proofing, inspection, and layout Preparation and maintenance of appropriate documentation for Graphics Department Technical resource and support for customer service planning and layout inquiries The ideal Layout Technician candidate must demonstrate: Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities Attention to detail, effective time management, and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously Ability to provide a high level of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization Effective and clear communication, both orally and in writing, to all levels of people inside and outside the organization Education, Skills, and Experience forLayout Technician:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical school training preferredRequired:
Two or more years' experience in the print industry and/or desktop trainingRequired:
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English languageRequired:
Color vision, visual acuityPreferred:
