A fee is required to take the Frontline National Examination. Candidates with demonstrated financial hardship may submit a request to have the fee waived prior to test registration. The Denver Civil Service test may be taken online, via mobile device, or in person at a pre-arranged location. Testing takes a maximum of 40 minutes per section. Upon completion of the testing period, the Denver Civil Service Commission will review candidate test scores and notify those who are eligible to continue with processing. Police Officers are responsible for performing the essential functions of the job which include the suppression of crime, the protection of life and property, the investigation of criminal activity, the apprehension and arrest of violators of the criminal and traffic laws, the recovery of stolen property and the regulation of non-criminal conduct.
