Lead Escrow Assistant 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Newport Beach, CA 92660 Chartwell Escrow, an independent escrow company in Southern California, has an opportunity for a Senior Escrow Assistant in our Newport Beach branch to be a contributing team member on a highly productive escrow unit. The ideal candidate will have an ample amount of experience handling escrow transactions, preferably as a Lead Assistant, and will highly value the opportunity to work and build on their knowledge and skills to grow in their professional escrow services career. Lead Assistants will have mastered the essential Assistant duties and perform more critical Escrow Officer-level duties which require a comprehensive escrow foundation and analysis of the transaction. Lead Assistants can interact, strategize with, and guide all transaction participants, including the Lender, Title, and Buyers and Sellers and their Real Estate and Legal representatives. Additionally, they can manage the business of the unit in the absence of the Escrow Officer for limited periods (at the discretion of the escrow officer and/or management). A successful individual hired into this role would be eligible to earn a commission structure in addition to their base compensation. Responsibilities and Duties Prepare full-spectrum escrow instructions and amendments Prepare Legal Documents (Interspousal Deeds, Affidavits, Powers of Attorney, etc.) Review a Preliminary Report and document processing needs accordingly Prepare a complete and accurate Settlement Statement Prepare precise and comprehensive title recording instructions Abstract recordable documents and remedy any deficiencies Direct and delegate duties to junior members of staff Review file for completeness and compliance; proceeding to closing by remitting documents to title for recording; accurately balancing and disbursing file. Complying with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of recent escrow experience handling resale transactions High School diploma or equivalent Highly technologically proficient, experience with Qualia desired Comfortable working in a paperless escrow environment High attention to detail Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal Chartwell Escrow is an independent escrow company with 17 branches serving Southern California seamless real estate escrow services with our focus on the impeccable experience of our clients.
