Lead Refrigeration Start-Up / Controls Technician Wood Air Conditioning Houston, TX 77073 Are you an experienced commercial refrigeration start-up/controls technician ready to take on a leadership role? Wood Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a leading commercial HVAC and plumbing company in Mount Pleasant, TX, is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up Technician Foreman to join our traveling team. This stable, year-round position includes all travel expenses paid. Benefits for the Lead Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up / Controls Technician Foreman position include:
Starting Wage:
$36.00 - $44.00 an hour. Weekly pay plus overtime!
Per Diem:
$30.00 a day, with all transportation and lodging expenses covered by Wood Air.

Paid Time Off:

Responsibilities for the Lead Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up / Controls Technician Foreman position include: Oversee and lead the start-up and troubleshooting of commercial refrigeration systems, including refrigeration cases, rack systems, walk-in freezers/coolers, and chillers. Supervise evacuations of parallel racks after verifying pressure tests. Lead EMS wiring and programming for all manufacturers of EMS systems. Direct and perform full start-ups of new parallel refrigeration systems and individual systems. Manage small projects such as single case and condenser changeouts. Oversee retro-commissioning of supermarkets for system performance or utility programs, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects. Collaborate with junior technicians and foremen, providing training and support as needed. Ensure compliance with safety standards, project timelines, and quality control measures. Requirements for the Lead Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up / Controls Technician Foreman position include: High school diploma or GED required. Coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school preferred. 4-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration, particularly in the installation and servicing of single and parallel rack systems, refrigeration cases, walk-in freezers/coolers, and chillers. Previous experience as an installation foreman or leading a crew of installers is required. A minimum of 3 years of supermarket EMS systems experience. EMS certification and proficiency in EMS systems wiring and programming (CPC, Novar, Danfoss) preferred. Experience with CO2 and glycol refrigeration systems is required. EPA Certification and TDLR preferred. Valid driver's license required at all times. Ability to read and interpret blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing. Availability to travel, work overnight, and work overtime as needed (travel Sunday night through Friday). Proven ability to organize and prioritize work schedules for yourself and your team.
