Days Description:
The Human Resources Specialist ensures efficient HR operations by providing administrative support and serving as the main point of contact for visitors. Responsibilities include managing HR communications, maintaining supplies, coordinating meetings, processing requisitions and purchase orders, and supporting recruitment efforts by handling job postings.
Essential Functions:
Provide all levels of administrative support based on the needs of the department including general office organization, ordering and maintenance of office supplies, and assisting with events as needed. Initiate purchase requisitions, budget transfers, process invoices and maintain budgetary records for the department. Create and edit material such as letters, memoranda, reports, and statistical data. Enter and proofread data into a variety of internal and external systems. Greet and assist walk-ins, answer phones as needed to address employee questions, always representing the department professionally. Regularly check and distribute departmental mail. Maintain confidential records and personnel information. Make changes in office procedures as necessary for more effective operation. Schedule conference rooms, and coordinate travel arrangements as needed. Perform all other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of three (3) years' experience working in an office setting. One year direct experience working in a Human Resources department preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and effective communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
Salary Schedule:
SPMS Hiring Range:
$43,180 to $55,490 annually, dependent on experience, plus additional $9,000 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
