Crash Truck Driver Schedule:
Full time (Majority of work is
NIGHT SHIFT
)
Rate:
$33.39/hr (current Teamster rate)

Job Summary:
Waters Construction Company is looking for Crash Truck Drivers to join our team and work on a CTDOT projects in Norwalk and Milford. Must have a valid Connecticut CDL License and will be responsible for operating the crash truck to set/remove sign patterns on the highway.
What You'll Do:
  • Safely operate crash truck to set/move/remove sign patterns on various roadways (highway, residential, etc).
  • Arrive on time and work hard to accomplish tasks in a safe, efficient, and positive manner.
  • Responsible for daily truck inspections and submissions with appropriate documentation to meet DOT compliance.
  • Proper use of hand signals or other movements when operating the vehicle.
  • Follow all company policies and
OSHA / MSHA
regulations
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Establish trusting relationships with supervisors, pattern crews, and other crash truck drivers, working as a team.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Ability to work days or nights as needed.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
What You'll Need:
  • OSHA 10 hour.
  • Current CT CDL driver's license.
  • Valid DOT medical card.
  • Good driving record.
  • Capable and experienced in operating manual and automatic transmission trucks.
  • Has reliable personal transportation and is willing to travel within CT.
  • Can work day or night shifts depending on schedules.
  • Can work overtime when needed.
  • Experience in Driving (3 years).
  • Ability to work nights.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ask questions as needed.
  • CT resident.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physical abilities should not be impaired or compromised by the use of medications, substances, etc.
Nice to
Haves:
  • Loading & hauling experience.
  • Crash Truck experience.
  • Driving traffic control truck while setting up/taking down traffic control patterns for roadway work zones.
  • Driving water truck (filling with water & then filling milling machines with water).
  • Heavy/highway construction experience.
